2016 Trek

Hello All,

Tuesday, June 7nd 2016 will be our final Advisor Contingency meeting for the Philmont 2016 Contingent Committee. This meeting is for advisors for the Philmont 2016 Contingent. The meeting will be at the Service Center on Genisi Drive, Morganville at 7:30pm.

The dates for the 2016 adventure are as follows:
NJ to Denver - Sunday, June 26
Arrive at Philmont - Tuesday, June 28
Denver to NJ - Sunday, July 10

The advertisements for the Philmont 2016 Trek is out on the Monmouth Council Website and registration opened March 2, 2015. We currently have 79 scouts and 27 advisors registered.
Registration has closed for the Philmont 2016 Contingent. We thank our Advisors that were able to on volunteer positions.

Outline of Volunteer Positions:

Crew advisor - participate with crew on bimonthly meetings. Takes part in Philmont trip with crew. The Crew Advisor collects monthly financial payments for crew members and returns to co-lead. Coordinate skills to prepare for trek.

Contingent Management - takes on pre-trek trip responsibilities such as coordination of Spring or Fall shakedown hike and or food ordering. Help with reservations or hat/shirt ordering as outlined below.

Contingent support - Helps with Fall or Spring shakedown hikes in addition to other responsibilities.

The Advisors Contingency Meetings (advisors or new advisors only) will be the first Tuesday of each month so we can use the large meeting room. Most meetings will be at the Service Center unless the date needs to be adjusted all meetings start at 7:30.

Note to Adult Advisors: Adults who submit the registration application and the Philmont 2016 Leader Application are not guaranteed placement in a crew. Adult placement is based on leadership and physical qualifications.
