As I am completing this
Journal, it is almost six months later. As I look back at the Trek and the Crew, I feel
proud of what the Crew accomplished and how this Crew really was a Crew most of the time.
Certainly, there were times that they were the Herd that we saw on the early shakedowns --
and there were occasions that there were two factions represented by the two Troops that
they represented. But when it counted, they had become a Crew. I also look back and can see that the individuals on the Trek each grew and
gained something from the experience -- something that they will carry with them for the
rest of their lives. This is the main reason that I do this.
I am proud that our crew was part of the record total of 20,279
Scouts and Scouters to attend Philmont during its 60th year.
