Are you an Older Scouter looking for a new mountain or a new Scouter looking for an old mountain?? Whatever the situation, Monmouth Council is now accepting applications from Adult Scouters for the trip to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico departing on June 28, 2000 and returning on July 13, 2000. Applications are available at the Scout Service Center or can be downloaded from the Web. Additional information on the Trip is also available on the Website.
A meeting will be held in March/April 1999 and additional publicity and notification of the time and location will be provided directly to those who have submitted applications and to all Scouters in Monmouth Council to begin organizing the Committee and answer all questions about the trip.
Some of the requirements needed for the trip are: be in excellent physical condition, have the required outdoor and leadership skills, attend monthly committee meetings and provide the assistance required, conduct monthly crew meetings and training sessions, and participate in shakedown hikes and a conservation weekend. All of the requirements will be reviewed at the meeting and are listed in more detail with the application form.
